Home Help Companions are here to provide you with trusted and affordable live in companions, so you're not lonely and you can stay in your own home for longer.
Hours and pay
We differ from many other agencies, as we do not employ our companions. They are employed directly by their hosts or are self-employed.
It’s much cheaper for your host this way, so you can expect to earn more money than you would if you worked through an agency.
It also means you miss out on the politics of being employed by both the host and an agency.
Every contract also includes full board and lodging, so you will be given your own bedroom, all meals provided. If you are a permanent Companion, you will have 1-2 free days each week + 28 days paid holiday.
if you are self-employed, you will work on a 2-3 week rota with one or two other companions.
Pay varies according to the specifications of the job, number of hours of work and your qualifications and experience. As a guide:

Please note that the gross salaries listed are approximate figures, based on a person with a standard tax code.
It is the employer’s responsibility to pay tax and National Insurance contributions for their employee in addition to the gross pay.
